Pr Tarek Sharshar trained in Neurology and Intensive Care Medicine in Paris, France.

He completed a PhD in clinical physiology at The Imperial College of London.

He is now a senior consultant in the Department of Intensive Care Medicine of the teaching Raymond Poincaré Hospital and Professor at The University of Versailles.

He is supervising research on neurological complications of critical illness as well as neuroendocrine and brain dysfunctions related to septic shock, notably in collaboration with Institut de Pasteur, Mc Gill University and Leuven University.
